The 52nd Grammy's Winners and Performances!!

Yesterday, the music world was in full in effect at the Grammy's with ridiculous nominees (if the Hip Hop nominees were anything to go by...Hip Hop really IS dead], shocking hair, and record breaking wins.

Here is my quick round up of winners and some performances...I'll clean it up later ;) :

Album of the Year: Fearless — Taylor Swift [Why???....they don't even play any of her songs in the UK....even Lady Gaga's album is more worthy]

Song of the Year: Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It) - Beyonce [Song of the year, anthem of the year, dance of the year.....dance of the decade....best combination of cinematography and choreography this year....lol...you can tell I love this song :)]

Beyonce won a record SIX awards which is more than her own record that she shares with Lauryn Hill for most wins for a female in one night.

She now has....wait for it....SIXTEEN GRAMMYS. I think she had a preminition about multiple awards....remember this scene from the 'Diva' video...we all know those were supposed to be life-size OSCARS not Grammys but a suitable pic for the occasion ....

This is Bey doing her 'If I were a Boy' medley at yesterday's awards. I liked her marching bit...the rest, is a copy of what she did when I saw her concert in November last year so it's not amazing. She still owned the stage though.

Best Solo Rock Performance: Working on a Dream — Bruce Springsteen [my mum likes him so she'll be happy to hear he's still relevant haha!]

Record of the Year: Use Somebody — Kings of Leon

Best Country Album: Fearless — Taylor Swift [If you're a country music fan, please lemme know the deal...is Swift really THAT chick???]

Best Rock Album: 21st Century Breakdown — Green Day

Best Hard Rock Performance: War Machine — AC/DC

Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals: Use Somebody — Kings of Leon [Their album was played EVERYDAY when I was in Portugal last year because Miss Lazy and Confused was over-obsessed with them...we got dressed to them....went to sleep to them...blasted their songs on the beach to the anger and joy of the public....good times!]

Best Rap/Sung Collaboration: Run This Town — Jay-Z, Rihanna & Kanye West [In my opinion, if 'Jizz In My Pants' was a collabo Lonely Island would have won.]

Here's a video of Rhianna and Jay accepting the award with Solange's son Jules....who is not that bothered when Rhianna tries to act all cute and pick him up...

Best Female Pop Vocal Performance: Halo — Beyonce

Best New Artist: Zac Brown Band [this band was being championed by Common on the red carpet live show on E! then when I looked the band up and they both revealed they will work with each other this year....then I found this video ....]

Best Electronic/Dance Album: The Fame — Lady Gaga
Best Dance Recording: Poker Face — Lady Gaga

Here is Lady Gaga performing with Queen John of Elton....

Best Alternative Music Album: Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix — Phoenix

Best Contemporary R&B Album: I Am… Sasha Fierce — Beyonce
[Don't hate...cos it was. Not best traditional R'n'B / Neo-soul album...best commercial R'n'B album last year was Beyonce's]

Best Female R&B Vocal Performance: Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It) — Beyonce [Erm!! WHAT!!! Jazmine Sullivan was robbed. Her vocals in general are just toooooo SICK so 'Lions and Tigers and Bears' was clearly snubbed.]

Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals: I Gotta Feeling — The Black Eyed Peas [This song needs to stop]

Best Rock Song: Use Somebody — Kings Of Leon

Best Pop Vocal Album: The E.N.D — The Black Eyed Peas

Best Male R&B Vocal Performance: Pretty Wings — Maxwell
[This was one of the best songs of the year...just goes to show that you can make a good comeback...unlike Eminem....I'm still waiting for him to 'spit hot fiyah'].

Here is Maxwell performing that lovely song with Roberta Flack...

Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals: Blame It — Jamie Foxx & T-Pain [This should have gone to the vococder program that T.Pain always uses....]

Here they are performing with Doug E. Fresh and Slash...

Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance: At Last — Beyonce [...yea...it kinda was wasn't it!...damn, Bey...if I was a hater, I would really be mad right about now!]

Best Rock Instrumental Performance: A Day in the Life — Jeff Beck

Best Urban/Alternative Performance: Pearls — India.Arie & Dobet Gnahore [I haven't heard this...gotta admit I kinda forgot about her for a hot minute.]

Best R&B Song: Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) — Beyonce [What can you say...]

Best Rap Solo Performance: D.O.A (Death Of Auto-Tune) — Jay-Z [PURE TRASHHHHH!!!! This song was soooooo dead when it came out it I thought D.O.A really DID stand for Dead On Arrival....just cos you got a few horns don't call it a comeback. GOback.]

Best Rap Performance By A Duo Or Group: Crack a Bottle — Eminem, Dr. Dre & 50 Cent [Yawn.]

Best Rap Song: Run This Town — Jay-Z, Rihanna & Kanye West [Thanks to the judges, yet again Rhianna THINKS she can call herself a grammy winning singer just cos she let out a few bone-chilling noises on someone elses track]

This song is better.....Lil Wayne, Drake and Travis [MARRY MEEEEEE] Barker performing a medley... oh and you are warned...MAJOR CRINGE FACTOR courtesy of Quentin Tarantino's attempt to sound Hood sounding like Robert Downey JR's character from Tropic Thunder...

Best Rap Album: Relapse — Eminem [sorry I kinda relapsed myself]

Best Male Pop Vocal Performance: Make It Mine — Jason Mraz

Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals: Lucky — Jason Mraz & Colbie Caillat

Best Female Country Vocal Performance: White Horse — Taylor Swift

Best Male Country Vocal Performance: Sweet Thing — Keith Urban

Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album:— Michael Buble Meets Madison Square Garden — Michael Buble [I LOOOOOOOOOOVE this dude....ever since I heard his song 'Home'....perfect song to drive to...or in my case, passenger ride to!]

Best Metal Performance: Dissident Aggressor — Judas Priest

Best Country Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals: I Run to You — Lady Antebellum [dunno who she is but that is one crazy name]

Best Country Collaboration With Vocals: I Told You So — Carrie Underwood & Randy Travis

Best Americana Album:Electric Dirt — Levon Helm

Best Contemporary Blues Album: Already Free — The Derek Trucks Band

Best Compilation Soundtrack Album For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media: Slumdog Millionaire — Various Artists and A R Rahman (producer) [I feel so rubbish...I STILL haven't seen this film :((((( I kept missing opportunities to go see it ;'( ]
Best Song Written For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media: Jai Ho (From Slumdog Millionaire [I may not have seen it but this song is a CHOOOON]

Best Recording Package: Everything That Happens Will Happen Today — David Byrne & Brian Eno

Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package: Neil Young 'Archives Vol. I'

Best Short Form Music Video: Boom Boom Pow — The Black Eyed Peas [This could have been a typo for the WORST short form music video this year]

Best Long Form Music Video: The Beatles Love – All Together Now — (Various Artists) [Paul is the only person I know who shamelessly exploits his OWN music to the max ...have some self-respect man...appearing on X Factor and allsorts...smh]

Best Comedy Album: A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift Of All! — Stephen Colbert [Best comedy album - Rated R]

The show featured a special Michael Jackson Tribute with Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Celine Dion and Smokey Robinson followed by a few words from MJ's kids and his nephews...remember 3T...BOYYYY they have changed....

Mary J Blige also peformed on the night with opera royalty, Andrea Bocelli, for Haiti which was nice....

Pink as usual brought the circus with her...this time she wore her birthday suit....

Lady Gaga looked soooo pretty when she arrived but her cheap yellow pee-pee hair ruined the look....it doesn't matter if you're wearing an armani dress - I have NEVER seen anyone pull this look off in my entire life.....pee-pee hair and porcelain doll skin doesn't even look good on the angriest, unorthodox of punks....then you have the nerve to wear a white dress and silver shoes??? FAIL! Why!? Then when she switched it up and gave us a Marylin Manson-lookin-Bowie-fail.

I will clean this post up later....

*Kara* thinks Ciara is starting to look like that Olivia-suck-the-fun-out-of-everything-gives-me-cheekbones-girl from The City
